Ingredients:

  • 4 whisked eggs

  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions

  • 4 tablespoons of garlic

  • 2 bunches of basil or generous amount

  • 1/2 of chopped diced yellow onion

  • 1/2 cup of Chef Jon Lee Sauce

  • 2 1/2 cups of white rice (preferably day-old rice)

Instructions:

  1. Start by cooking the whisked eggs in a pan over medium-high heat. Cook them only halfway, as they will be added back into the rice at the end.

  2. Add the diced yellow onion and green onion to a pan over medium-high heat and cook for 1–2 minutes. Stir to combine, then add the chopped garlic. Cook for another 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Next, add the basil and continue cooking until everything is well combined and fragrant.

  3. Next, add the Chef Jon Lee sauce to your aromatics, making sure to shake the bottle well before pouring it into the pan. Stir everything together and let the sauce reduce while continuing to cook over medium-high heat.

  4. Once the basil has cooked into the sauce, add the rice to the pan. Spread and press the rice evenly across the pan to ensure everything cooks evenly, about 4–6 minutes.

  5. Lastly, add the partially cooked eggs back into the rice and scramble them into the mixture. Top with sesame oil and additional Chef Jon Lee sauce to taste.

  6. Serve and enjoy!
